OLAPLEX, the new generation of colouring

OLAPLEX

I talk a lot about using Olaplex in the majority of my blogs. That just shows how much I do use it, within the salon and at home. Following is a more indepth look at Olaplex

When Olaplex first came on the Hair Industry scene, there was scepticism. A liquid that could reform broken bonds to disulfade bonds?

The proof was in the services provided. Olaplex now has a multitude of celebrity stylists ambassadors, from Guy Tang to Tracey Cunningham , helping them to achieve the perfect looks on their celebrity clientele.

Olaplex is a bond multiplier containing a single active ingredient, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate. Olaplex works by finding single sulfur hydrogen bonds and cross linking them back together to form disulfide bonds before, during and after services. Disulfide bonds are broken via chemical, thermal, and mechanical processes.

Bonds break when exposed to chemicals in colouring, from heat ie heated styling tools and sun damage, and mechanical force such as combing wet hair.

Olaplex is free of silicone, sulfates, phthalates, DEA, aldehydes, gluten and is never tested on animals.

Using Olaplex as a tool, the more you use Olaplex, the more familiar you will become, most importantly for you the client. With this knowledge comes the ability to push hair farther than ever before, still maintaining the hairs own integrity.

Olaplex may be a game changer, but it is not a magic wand. Professional judgement is still required, as they know how far they can push the boundaries with your hair.

If hair is already compromised by chemical services, and or heat damage, the Stand Alone in-salon Treatment and Take-Home-#3 is a must to ensure rebuilding before another chemical service and ensuring overall health in rebuilding your hairs strength.
