APPLICATION

DRY APPLICATION

Apply to dry hair for longer lasting reflect. Make sure the hair is not coated with styling products or oily. Pre-shampoo the hair then blast dry prior to Lust application.

WET/DAMP APPLICATION

Apply to shampooed, towel dried hair. This will allow for faster fade of Lust colour to enable change of reflect sooner.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Apply to pre-lightened hair.
  2. Wear gloves to apply Lust colour.
  3. Select desired Lust shade and pour directly into colour bowl and apply with brush or comb to ensure even coverage.
  4. Do not mix with developer.
  5. Take care to thoroughly cover/saturate and work Lust colour into the hair (comb through on long hair).
  6. Covering with a plastic processing cap is optional to contain Lust colours.
  7. Process for a minimum of 30 minutes without heat.
  8. Rinse thoroughly (do not shampoo) and condition if necessary.

REMOVE REFLECT

To be performed by a professional hairdresser only. When removing Lust reflect from the hair use one of the following options:

Shampoo Bleach

1pt (10g) Bleach

1pt (10g) 10 Vol Developer

1pt (10g) shampoo

Apply to damp or dry hair. Work through hair. Process visually up to 30 minutes. Rinse / shampoo and condition. Tone if necessary.

UNDERLYING PIGMENT

Consider the underlying pigment/undertones in the hair when lightening prior to Lust application. The chart below shows the recommended undertone required for Lust shades:

Lust Hair Colour

COLOUR LONGEVITY

  • Colour will last from 3-30 days depending on the porosity of the hair prior to application, reflect chosen, application (wet or dry) and processing time.

LIGHTENING

  • Prior to Lust application use the correct developer to achieve desired lift required. Do not lighten hair past desired depth and undertone as the hair will become extremely porous allowing Lust colour to fade faster.

AT HOME APPLICATION

  • Careful application is important to avoid staining porous bathroom surfaces.

CARE & TIPS

  • Do not shampoo after Lust application for a minimum of 24 hours to avoid colour fading.
  • Use professional brand shampoo and conditioner to avoid colour being stripped from the hair.
  • Use dark towels to avoid staining.
  • When shampooing, you will notice the water will be coloured when rinsing due to semi permanent colour slowly releasing from the hair.

BREAKDOWN OF SHADES

Current colour level and reflect in the hair will affect the end result.

Please consider the rules of colour.

Primary colours make secondary colours when mixed.
Red + Blue = Violet.
Blue + Yellow = Green.
Yellow + Red = Orange.

Counteracting Colours
Red + Green = Neutral.
Orange + Blue = Neutral.
Yellow + Violet = Neutral.

If there is a current toner or undertone in the hair prior to Lust application, the above rules need to be considered.

Current colour level / base, reflect and underlying in the hair will affect the end result.

Light Green
Stunning candy apple green.
Apply to pre-lightened level 10/ for best results.
When applied to a level 9/ or 8/ where yellow is stronger in the undertone, Light Green will be altered.

Lake Blue
Moody turquoise.
Apply to pre-lightened level 7/ 8/ or 9/.
When applied to a level 10 /colour will appear more of a blue turquoise.

Sky Blue
Beautiful azure blue.
Apply to pre-lightened level 10/.
When applied to a level 9/ or 8/ the yellow that sits in the undertone at these levels will create a green reflect.

Blue Horizon
Electric cobalt blue.
Apply to pre-lightened level 10/ to 7/.
If the undertone is very warm on levels 8/ and 7/the end result will create green.

Royal Blue
Priceless sapphire blue.
Apply to pre-lightened level 10/ to 7/.
Colour will appear denim blue if applied to a warm undertone from levels 8/and 7/.

Purple Rain
Beautiful blue based violet.
Apply to pre-lightened level 10/.
Purple Rain WILL become blue if:
- Applied to any level darker than a 10/ (the yellow in the undertone will counteract the violet leaving the blue to create the final tone).
- An ash tone is currently in the hair - Purple Rain will pick up any current blue or green reflect and become blue.
- Mixed with Soft Pastel, Purple Rain will always become blue/green.

To get the best out of Purple Rain when applying to levels darker than a 10/ mix;
10g Purple Rain + or with
1g Raspberry.

For pastel tones with Purple Rain
4g Purple Rain + or with
1g Raspberry
20-50g Soft Pastel.

Berry Burst
Stunning berry violet.
Apply to pre-lightened levels 10/ to 7/.

Electric Violet
Vibrant cool violet.
Apply to pre-lightened levels 10/ to 7/.

Raspberry
Delicious violet pink.
Apply to pre-lightened level 10/ and 9/ .
Can also be applied to a level 8/to 6/ but the intensity of the undertone will predict the end result. The darker the undertone the warmer Raspberry will appear.

Pink Panther
Striking pink.
Apply to pre-lightened levels 10/ and 9/.
Can also be applied to a level 8/to 6/ but warmth of the undertone will alter the end result.

Pink Diamond
Flawless neon pink.
Apply to pre-lightened level 10/.

Blood Red
Brilliant midnight red.
Apply to pre-lightened levels 9/ to 5/.

Fire Red
Cool vibrant red.
Apply to pre-lightened levels 10/ to 5/.

Cherry Red
Bright scarlet red.
Apply to pre-lightened levels 10/ to 5/.

Californian Orange
Vibrant orange.
Apply to pre-lightened levels 10/ to 7/.

Waihi Gold
Intense sun kissed gold.
Apply to pre-lightened levels10/ to 8/.

Ripe Lemon
Brilliant neon yellow.
Apply to pre-lightened level 10/.
If applied to levels darker than a 10/ the warmth of the undertone will take the cool neon reflect away and create a gold reflect.

Soft Pastel
Create pastel tones.
Radiant shine.
Refresh current colour.
Soft Pastel reflect to tame warm tones.

If the hair is lightened and has a cool ash reflect this would indicate that there is green and blue in the hair.
If green is in the hair then the application or addition of pastel reflect can have the following results.
+ Yellow = a green tone will be created.
+ Orange = the red in orange will counteract the green and result in a muted neutral result or can create a warm tone.
+ Red = counteract the green and the end result
will be warm. If an intense red is added then the end result will be red.
+ Violet = a red violet will create a neutral result. A blue violet will create a deeper ash tone.
+ Blue = deepen the ash to a khaki or matte

Misty Rose
Pretty pastel pink.
Apply to pre-lightened level 10/.
If yellow tone is present it will warm up the Misty Rose pink tone creating soft apricot-pink.

Mint Cream
Cute pastel mint.
Apply to pre-lightened level 10/ for best results.
Can be applied to level 9/. When applied to 8/ level blondes the tone will become a warmer pastel green loosing the cool mint hue.

Arctic Blue
Beautiful baby blue.
Apply to a clean pre-lightened level 10/
If applied to a level 9/ or 8/ the yellow of the undertone will create a green tone. Make sure the hair is a neutral tone prior to applying arctic blue.

Lilac Mist
Soft lilac.
Apply to pre-lightened level 10/.
If applied to warm yellow undertone Lilac Mist will become more neutral in tone due to counteracting yellow that is currently in the hair.
Add a small amount of Berry Burst or Electric Violet to Lilac Mist to prevent a neutral result if yellow undertone is to be removed to achieve Lilac Mist result.

Silver Fox
Crystal clear silver.
Apply to pre-lightened level 10/.
To create personalised silver tones add Lust Pastel or Lust Pure tones to Silver Fox.

This is a general guide to understand Lust shades. Please remember that individual results will vary due to intensity of natural underlying pigment.

DO NOT USE HEAT during lust processing time e.g. climazone / steamer / dryer.

Lust must be applied to pre-lightened hair.
